Christmas Project

On 22nd December 2012, Sincere Hears had its very own first Xmas Charity Day! We did not plan any activity in the month of November, in the hope of saving our resources for our big December project. Ekta and I began planning early December, by dividing event jobs to our dear members, who very actively took part in the project. Another thing to be extremely excited about was the fact that we have our t-shirts now, custom made for our group. (anyone interested to purchase them please feel free to holler!). My house was filled with over 20 excited people who slowly made their way to the cars to visit the orphanage having over 200 children and senior citizens. The children and seniors greeted us politely as entered the premises and immediately sat obediently, waiting for us to kick-start the program. We started the festivities by our classic way of self-introduction, trademark of Sincere Hearts ;) Next up, our very talented Vt and Nunu (Diksha and Bhavna) headed a short skit about the importance of honesty. Not only the children and seniors, but we members also found their skit extremely entertaining! Next up, in order to keep in line with the christmas spirit, Ekta, Pooja and Sonam shared interesting stories about christmas, followed by a fun round of game by Ravina, Divya Maina and Priti. The "dar", "dir", "dur" game was played by several children amongst the crowd who were penalized for song and dance when they lose a round. Oh, and to add to the spirit, we had xmas carols playing in the background the whole time! We then reached the cherry on the cake, with our special guest, Santa Claus, who appeared suddenly and greeted everyone cheerily. Everyone was as excited as ever to see the unexpected guest as Santa strolled around the premises to say hello to everyone. The day ended with Santa distributing gift bags to everyone and "photo bersama" session. An extremely satisfying time was had by all and we sincerely thank our generous donators for their contributions. We cannot make all of these happen without you! God bless and Seasons' Greetings!

Panti Asuhan Wisma Ganda Palsigunung

Our third visit was definitely one to cherish for a long long time... A sad regret would be the fact that not too many members were able to join us due to other appointments. BUTTT we do have 2 new members this month so a big shout-out to Pooja and Sandhya! We were up and awake earlier that day due to the anticipation and the fact that we were up for a log drive that morning. A few hours and misdirections later, we reached Panti Asuhan Palsigunung which was an orphanage that takes care of mentally and physically disabled children. As we took a look around, I couldn't help feeling familiar with the place and at first i assumed it was a random deja vu but it was so strong that I asked Ekta Melwani (my best friend and SC cofounder) "have we been here before?" and she said "Yes with Sai Mandhir at least 10 years ago!" and it was such a happy moment for me to realize that I have met these children before. We did not do much that day (we actually prepared coloring tools and basic games) but their conditions were such that all we could do was look around and have a chat with some of them. It amazed us how some of them were so civilized and well-mannered. After distributing goodie bags, we left the orphanage with huge smiles on our faces, knowing we made some children's day. Now, all of you reading this, a humble request from Sincere Hearts, for anyone who finds the time or can spare time, kindly visit the children at Palsigunung. They are kind-hearted and very much in need of your support. You may always contact us for addresses and info and you can even join us! Kirti 087877087820 and Ekta 0816771807. We are off for November (pooling our resources for Christmas) and we are working on our Xmas charity project! *so excited*. Once again, THANK YOU to our donators! we love you!

Second Visit-Panti Wierdha Old Folks' Home

This visit was definitely one to remember for a long time... as we made the appointment to visit Panti Wierdha, I remember how Ekta and I were smiling, as we have always wanted to go to an old folks' home and haven't had the chance to, as we lacked the manpower. Now, thanks to our loyal members, we made it possible! On one fine Saturday, we made our way through this old folks' home, in Jelambar. As we arrived, we set up in one of the halls and waited for the seniors to walk in. When they did, they were kind, cheerful and very friendly! Some of them were so elated to see us that they refused to sit down and chose to stand with us instead. We started off by introducing ourselves. I introduced some of my members in a memorable way so the seniorsa can remember their names as we go on with the program. For example, I introduced Ekta Melwani as "ini yang hidungnya sangat mancung" and Sonam Samtani as "ini yang bangun tidurnya susaaaaaaaaaaaaah sekali", Bhavna Hiranandani as "ini yang mau menikah tahun depan, tolong minta doa restu ya" and Dimple Hiranandani as "Dimple artinya lesung pipit loo" and basically similarly for everyone else :):) We then moved on to introducing our group-Sincere Hearts and what is does. Our very talented entertainers-Diksha and Bhavna or more familiarly nicknamed Sha and Viti to take over with a very cute drama skit, with a moral of "before changing the surroundings, change yourself first". We then requested some of the seniors to share stories about their youth and some of them even volunteered to sing for us! The day was concluded by a very special surprise from us- a song to sing for the seniors-Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. It was very cute to see some of them who knew the lyrics more than us! We distributed gift bags and took a tour around the premises. It was disheartening to see the condition of the people who live there, some were unhealthy, some were extremely thin, some were sick and some had to take full bedrest. As we said our farewell, we all went back home with a sense of appreciation. We were always cared for at home, we had everything we could ever wish for. These people have family who abandoned them. A lesson for all of us, do not ever abandon our parents, care for them and the karma we will get will come to us. Thank you to our generous donators and we look forward to more hands in Sincere Hearts !

Our First Visit- Talenta Kasih Orphanage

We had our very first visit on the 28th of July 2012, to Panti Asuhan Talenta Kasih. As the journey began, all of us were excited as ever, to kick-start Sincere Hearts' program with the children from Talenta Kasih. We were greeted warmly by the caretakers and children who anticipated us by having a nicely set up living room. We started the visit by introducing ourselves to the children and vice versa. We also prepared a story telling by puppets, for which children listened intently and answered questions directed to them. Next, we played some games to entertain the children's Saturday morning. Some of them received crayons for prizes for game winners. Seeing the saddened faces, we couldn't help giving the crayons to everyone else :D We concluded the day by having a "foot bersama session" and distributed gift bags consisting of edible goodies and stationeries for school. We couldn't help smiling as we drove back home. Their smiling faces were all that we were looking for. We'd like to thank the generous donators who have helped make this day possible and GOD BLESS YOU! Our next visit is in progress and we look forward to more help from anyone. If you'd like to donate or join us, you are more than welcome!

Origin

Look around us... as of this very moment, you know for sure you have a laptop on your lap or a pc in front of you, a blaring TV which is on for no apparent reason, you cellphone light signaling new texts and a delicious meal you are waiting to be served. On the flip side of the coin, there are a bunch of underprivileged children, unattended senior citizens and sick people in need of a helping hand... forget television, they barely at 2 meals a day...which is why we brought to you Sincere Hearts, where we put together some money, food and other daily needs to donate to those who truly need it. this idea popped in our minds exactly on 30th June 2012 after an all-girls stay over... so now, here we are, planning visits to orphanages, old folks' home and street-livers to share our blessings...we truly hope all of you may be able to help us lend a helping hand... may it be in the form of cash or other necessities... please do contact Kirti Vasnani at 087877087820 or Ekta Melwani at 0816771807 to join us or to make a contribution. Big or small, it does not matter....for Mother Teresa once said, we cannot do great things, we can do small things, with great love Sincere Hearts, Join the helping hands
